eComment: In regards to the 21May2026 meeting agenda item 4: 26-1776: I am in full support to amend the zoning Title 20 section 20.350.007. I have lived and worked in South San Francisco for more than 27 years. Over the years I have seen more and more development east of highway 101. As that development has occurred, there is less and less space for our much needed SSF bee population. By amending the zoning, it will allow many corporations to include bee hives into their conservation efforts. Corporate apiaries create a more sustainable future.

Item: 4. 26-1766 Report regarding proposed Zoning Text Amendments to Title 20 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code provisions regulating Animal Keeping (Section 20.350.007) to update beekeeping regulations to expand where beekeeping is permitted as an accessory use to all zoning districts and to broaden performance standards related to beekeeping and determining that the proposed Zoning amendments are categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). (Cecelia Mariscal, Associate Planner) eComment: I am a South San Francisco resident and am writing to express my strong support for Agenda Item #4, which proposes to expand beekeeping as a permitted accessory use across all zoning districts. Honeybees and native pollinators are absolutely vital to the health of our local environment. By allowing responsible urban beekeeping throughout the city, this amendment supports local biodiversity, aids in the pollination of gardens, and aligns South San Francisco with sustainable environmental practices.

eComment: I am a resident of SSF and work at Genentech. I support item #4 - zoning text amendment to title 20. It would be great for the environment to allow more beekeeping in SSF.
