SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE
Why do you want to serve on the Youth Commission? Why do you believe the Youth Commission is important?
The Youth Commission is one of many key aspects of keeping SSF a community where all voices of any age, color, gender, and identity can be heard. It is an important part of forwarding the vision of keeping SSF a place where everybody can thrive. I hope to serve on the Youth Commission to be a part of something greater, a group where we can come together to make decisions to serve the people we care about and create an environment where everybody is able to participate. By serving as a Youth Commissioner, I would take on a more active community role and directly influence decisions made in SSF. My previous experience in participating in the Youth in Government Program in 2026, showed me the endless possibilities that come simply by taking initiative. 1 The City of South San Francisco

Youth in Government (26-27), Parks and Recreation Division Manager The Youth Commission addresses issues affecting youth and the community through making recommendations to City Council. Please explain what you believe is the biggest issue concerning youth in South San Francisco today.

I believe the biggest issue concerning youth in South San Francisco today is the lack of use tor third spaces that youth can use to teel a part of their community. Many youth, especially older students, struggle to find places where they believe they belong. There are often limited spaces in which youth can feel supported in both their mental and physical health. By expanding places where youth can feel safe, accepted, and supported, SSF will grow into an even stronger community with our young community who feel empowered to bring change.
