BACKGROUND
In 2021, it was determined the Fire Department was in need of a new Type 1 Engine (engine used routinely for all emergency response). The purchase of a new Type 1 Engine was approved by City Council on October 26, 2021 via Resolution 2021-131. The design and customization will be performed by Pierce out of Appleton, Wisconsin. To ensure that the design meets the needs of the City's Fire Department three of the City's most experienced Firefighters were selected to aid in the design and specification process.

DISCUSSION
City Council Resolution 85-44 requires City Council approval for staff to attend out-ofstate conferences. For the travel to Appleton, Wisconsin, the City will pay compensation for the three firefighters while the actual travel costs, including rooming and meals, will be paid for by the St. Helena Volunteer Fire Department Association.

FISCAL IMPACT
Agenda Item #5.1.
