Effective January 1, 2023, Assembly Bill 2449 amended the Brown Act, California Government Code Sections 54950 et seq., as it pertains to teleconference meeting participation by legislative body members. A legislative body member of the Member’s need to attend a meeting by teleconference under the “Just Cause” exception. Notifications shall not require legislative body approval. (GC 54953(f)(2)(A)(i))
