Levee Easement Package for 2130 Fontana Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204 Assessor Parcel No. 121-180-320-000
Dear Eric and Amanda,
0806-0010
01-001
On behalf of Reclamation District No. 1614 - Smith Tract (RD 1614) I am writing you about the City of Stockton's property at 2130 Fontana Avenue which encompasses a levee that provides flood protection to RD 1614 within the City of Stockton. On the Parcel Map for this property, there currently is an eighty foot (80') wide levee easement on the rear of the City's Parcel B, that was dedicated to the public in 1983 on Parcel Map 12-80, which is enclosed. RD 1614 would like to improve/perfect this existing levee easement and have the City of Stockton dedicate the same easement to them that has been dedicated to the public in 1983. RD 1614 is the Local Maintenance Agency that maintains the levees and terminal drainage facilities for this area. The City of Stockton as a local landowner within the District pays an annual assessment to RD 1614 in order to operate and maintain the levees and drainage features within the District. RD 1614 is requesting for the same levee easement as dedicated on the map and no additional rights.
As you may have noticed, RD 1614 has recently completed substantial improvements at the rear of the City of Stockton's property. We have enclosed "before" and "after" photos of this area so that you can view the improvements that have been made to limit campers from utilizing this area and negatively impacting the levee structure as well as jeopardizing the City of Stockton's property. This work was completed solely at the expense of RD 1614 utilizing the existing levee easement. Since the existing levee easement does not name RD 1614 specifically is the reason for our request.
We have enclosed a RD 1614 Easement Package for the City of Stockton's consideration for this property. In the submittal, for the City of Stockton's review and signature, are the following documents:
1) The levee easement deed jacket naming Reclamation District No. 1614 as the easement holder.
2) Stamped, dated and signed levee easement description, same as dedicated in Parcel Map 12-
80. 3) Closure report of levee easement.
