RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE COUNTY-CITY AGREEMENTS FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF AUSTIN ROAD AND ARCH ROAD, AND AUSTIN ROAD AND MARIPOSA ROAD Transportation projects sharing City and San Joaquin County jurisdictions require mutual participation and coordination to effectively administer project implementation and ongoing operation and maintenance; and As part of the Sanchez Ranch Development, certain roadway segments, including a portion of the intersections of Austin Road and Arch Road, and Austin Road and Mariposa Road, have been annexed into City limits; and Currently, at the intersection of Austin Road and Arch Road, the City controls two legs or 50 percent, of this four-legged intersection, with San Joaquin County controlling the remaining half of the intersection; and Currently, at the intersection of Austin Road and Mariposa Road, the City controls three legs or 75 percent, of this four-legged intersection, with San Joaquin County controlling the remaining 25 percent of the intersection; and The City will take the lead on the maintenance and operation of the traffic signals, with San Joaquin County reimbursing the City for their share of the costs according to the County-City Agreements; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STOCKTON, AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement between the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County to share with the City the cost to maintain and operate the traffic signal at the intersection of Austin Road and Arch Road, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit 1 and incorporated by this reference.
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement between the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County to share with the City the cost to maintain and operate the traffic signal at the intersection of Austin Road and Mariposa Road, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit 2 and incorporated by this reference. //
The City Manager is hereby authorized to take whatever actions are necessary and appropriate to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
