STOCKTON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION APPOINTING LORI M. ASUNCION AS CITY ATTORNEY FOR THE CITY OF STOCKTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT, AND AUTHORIZE STAFF TO AMEND CITY OF STOCKTON SALARY SCHEDULE TO REFLECT INCREASE IN CITY ATTORNEY BASE SALARY John M. Luebberke retired from the City of Stockton as City Attorney on March 31, 2022. City Council appointed Lori M. Asuncion as Acting City Attorney on April 1, 2022, to maintain continuity of day-to-day management and administration of the City Attorney’s Office until the position was filled; and On August 10, 2022, the City Council met in closed session, conducted interviews, and voted to appoint Lori M. Asuncion as the City Attorney for the City of Stockton, contingent upon the employment contract being presented to the City Council for approval at a public meeting; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STOCKTON, AS FOLLOWS:
The appointment of Lori M. Asuncion to serve as City Attorney for the City of Stockton is hereby confirmed. The Mayor is authorized, on behalf of the Council, to execute the attached employment contract with Lori Asuncion marked as Exhibit 1, setting forth the terms and conditions of employment effective September 13, 2022, and authorize staff to amend City of Stockton salary schedule to reflect increase in City Attorney base salary.
The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to take whatever actions are necessary and appropriate to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
