RE: Bid Error/Bid Relief -Local Street Resurfacing Project FY 2022-23 SB 1 - Slurry Dear Mr. Phan
VSS International, Inc. (VSSI) was the apparent low bidder on the abovementioned project, Project No. WD23003C that opened on May 25, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Although we consider The City of Stockton a great customer to work for, we disappointedly claim Bid Error on the above referenced project.
Subsequently, after bids were turned in, it was brought to our attention that the price to perform the entire project was bid for a total bid of $332,844.00. Immediately after becoming aware, we found that our PDF editor use to fill out the bid forms automatically used a "placeholder" of $1.00 for each scope of work and it did not calculate nor conespond conectly with our bid software when closing it out.
We are extremely disappointed to notify the City of Stockton that this enor is too large for us to overcome and would become an enormous detriment and cause a colossal financial impact on our company. Therefore, we are requesting an official relief from bid.
