STOCKTON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDING FOR PARK IMPROVEMENTS AT OAK, MATTIE HARRELL, AND SOUSA PARKS At the February 2024 Council Goal Setting Session and the annual American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) update to Council, park maintenance and improvements were identified as a high priority item; and To address this need in various parts of the City, Public Works recommends installation of one Exeloo restroom and the resurfacing of one parking lot at Oak Park, the replacement of one playground at Mattie Harrell Park, and funding the Sousa Pool Improvement project for safety repairs to the pool; and Appropriation of $2,000,000 from the General Fund Balance is needed to fund the Oak Park Improvements, Project No. WP24044, the Mattie Harrell Playground Replacement, Project No. WP24045, and the Sousa Pool Improvement, Project No. WP24046; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STOCKTON, AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council approves the appropriation of funds in the amount of $950,000 from the General Fund Balance to the Oak Park Improvements, Project No. WP24044.
The City Council approves the appropriation of funds in the amount of $400,000 from the General Fund Balance to the Mattie Harrell Playground Replacement, Project No. WP24045.
The City Council approves the appropriation of funds in the amount of $650,000 from the General Fund Balance to the Sousa Pool Improvement, Project No. WP24046.
The City Manager is hereby authorized to take whatever actions are necessary and appropriate to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
