I wrote a book entitled Herstory of the Hairstory, which is about the psychological implications hair has on African American Women. I have experience in working with a diverse population for the majority of my life. I grew up in Livermore and I was the only African American in the majority of my educational experiences. I have a different lens on incarceration and would love to be a part of transition and new development.
Please state the reason you would like to be a member of this board/commission.
I have been trained in forensic assessment and have worked extensively with the prison population as a clinical psychologist. I worked with sex offenders 290 registrants in the State of California. I am aware of the ways to assist this Board in dealing with the correctional population.

My name is Dharma Arokiadass, I am currently the Director of Pharmacy at Stockton Rehab. I bring to this Advisory Committee a diverse background in healthcare, encompassing 23 years of experience across various healthcare settings, including my tenure at California Correctional Health Care Services. I believe in the transformative potential of the Correctional Health Care Services Advisory Committee, recognizing the pivotal role it plays in the well-being of individuals in correctional facilities. This belief fuels my commitment to dedicating my time, expertise, and energies to furthering the cause of Correctional Health Care Services. The opportunity to serve on this Advisory Committee motivates me and I view my role as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the potential improvements and outcomes within the field. I am eager to collaborate closely with fellow committee members who share my commitment to this cause.
