Resolution No.
STOCKTON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER NO. 5 WITH EVOQUA WATER TECHNOLOGIES The Municipal Utilities Department (MUD) is responsible for operation and maintenance of the City’s wastewater collections systems. The collection and conveyance of sanitary wastewater generates hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas which is toxic and creates odors throughout the collection system. The MUD staff uses chemical supply contracts to provide chemical dosing at three sanitary wastewater pumping stations to control the levels of H2S gas and wastewater odor; and Between July 1, 2019, and August 31, 2023, the MUD maintained a chemical supply contract with Evoqua Water Technologies (Evoqua) for the treatment of H2S in the sanitary collections system. Due to administrative and contract management errors during the City’s transition to the Tyler Munis enterprise management system, contract expenditures exceeded the total approved amount by $520,364.00; and Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution to approve Contract Change Order No. 5 with Evoqua Water Technologies LLC (Exhibit 1) extending the contract termination date to August 31, 2024, to pay outstanding invoices in the amount of $30,063.74 and ratify the amount paid for services under the contract to a total of $2,622,254.00; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STOCKTON, AS FOLLOWS:
Contract Change Order No. 5 extending the contract termination date to August 31, 2024, to pay outstanding invoices in the amount of $30,063.74 and ratify the total contract expenditures with Evoqua Water Technologies in the total not-to-exceed amount of $2,622,254.00 is hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute same, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit 1 and incorporated by this reference. //
