I have worked with individuals with disabilities for over 20 years as an advocate and partner in my community. I recently graduated from Leadership Stockton Class of 2024 and through both my work and that experience I feel it is my duty to serve my community in ways that can make a difference for youth, teens, and adults. My commitment to the city of Stockton as well as my appreciation has grown exponentially since Leadership Stockton and I want to do more for our city.

Please state the reason you would like to be a member of this board/commission.
Our project in Leadership Stockton was to renovate one of the cottages of the Children's Home of Stockton, through that work and connections made with non-profits and city officials I saw need for ensuring our children and teens have safe places to go for both recreation and learning. I think a huge part of that is ensuring our libraries and community centers serving children and teens remain open and programming is provided that can enhance our under served communities. I think my background in social work would be an asset to this commission.
Have you served on an advisory group before?

I've served on advisory groups within Valley Mountain Regional Center for professional purposes, such as our Consumer Services committee, and CAPTAIN cadre. Both inform the state on how monies should be allocated for specific services and learning. Interests & Experiences
Please tell us about yourself and why you want to serve.
I am retired from the State of California after a 35+ year career where the majority of my time was spent as the District 10 Director of Administration, acting District Director, and later at the HQ level as Chief of Strategic Planning and Performance Management.
While
performing my duties as Director of Admin, I became proficient in budgetary oversight.
I
have a keen sense for fiscal responsibility, and a passion for governmental transparency and accountability.
I truly enjoyed my time as a civil servant and like to stay active/informed by attending various Council and committee meetings.
I am very interested in City of Stockton’s
governance and would like to serve my community at the local level.
