The Stockton P olice Department is offering the following resources, training, and recommendations to help accomplish our shared mission of school safety. · Resources: Partnering in the r eview of all law enforcement specific sections in the Comprehensive School Safety Plans (CSSP’s). CSSP’s can be sent to Lieutenant Ryan Taiariol at [email protected] for review. · Training: With t

· Recommendation: Knox Boxes provide immediate access for first responders to facilities. The Stockton Police Department has reviewed and determined that most Knox boxes at area schools are in locations not accessible to police officers without the assistance of a ladder. The SPD recommends all Knox boxes be placed between 4 – 6 feet off the ground and within 20 feet of the main entrance.

Additionally, the recommended contents of the Knox box should include a master key/electronic key card and a map of the facility to immediately aid first responders in during critical incidents.
