I am retired from the State of California after a 35+ year career where the majority of my time was spent as the District 10 Director of Administration, acting District Director, and later at the HQ level as Chief of Strategic Planning and Performance Management. While performing my duties as Director of Admin, I became proficient in budgetary oversight. I have a keen sense for fiscal responsibility, and a passion for governmental transparency and accountability. Additionally, during my 35-year career, I had extensive involvement in capital project planning and development where I had to work closely with cities and counties on the development and implementation of local and regional matters. This work required a working knowledge of policies, rules, and regulations and how to interpret and apply them. I truly enjoyed my time as a civil servant and like to stay active/informed by attending various Council and committee meetings. I am very interested in City of Stockton’s governance and would like to serve my community at the local level.

I have a keen interest in the betterment and future development of the City of Stockton. I want to use my 35 years of professional government experience to help Stockton become a safer, healthier, vivacious city through mindful expenditure of available resources and prudent planning decisions. I want to help ensure that the special tax collected is being dispersed and applied as the voters intended. I want to help facilitate transparency and accountability in the programs, policies, and resources of the city to maintain a city that is progressive, yet fair and equitable to all its citizens.

My main concern is PUBLIC SAFETY in Stockton and Weston Ranch. I admin a Facebook page Weston Ranch Crime Watch https://www.facebook.com/groups/1225186125054652, I am very aware of what happens in the community. I have a strong relationship with all the retail vendors in District 6, I have interviewed and visited them all personally to get the story and history of their interactions with law enforcement and fire in terms of services and their input on how we can improve the communication. I regularly attend the city council meeting and all the police and county meetings in Weston Ranch, I led the effort in getting the Big Box Band repealed after 17 years on the books here in Stockton. My interest is specifically focused on Public Safety in Stockton and improving the quality of life and safety for all Stockton residents. .

I am familiar with working in city government in the past. I am already involved in the community, helping bridge the information gap between the public and SPD, I am also a VERY STRONG advocate for law enforcement and understand those challenges from the inside out. Lastly I would like to see, help, finance the addition of police and firefighters to the force in Stockton. To ensure the funds available have the max returns for our first responders and if possible return some of the benefits lost to SPD and SFD during the budget cuts, i.e. medical, pensions, special duty pay etc. through the effective use of Measure W and Measure A funds.
