Please tell us about yourself and why you want to serve.
I have over a decade of experience working at the intersection of land-use, affordable housing and climate resiliency (development, policy and technical assistance provision) and currently work with communities throughout the greater Central Valley (Sacramento to Kern County) seeking funds from the state's Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities and Transformative Climate Communities programs. I live in Stockton and believe strongly in our community's potential to advance needed solutions that make Stockton more resilient and able to adapt to climate risks.

Please state the reason you would like to be a member of this board/commission.
California continues to face a severe housing shortage and increasingly devastating climate disasters. A critical solution to these interlocking issues is affordable low-carbon housing investment in infill, walkable, bikeable, transit-connected neighborhoods - which gives residents safe resilient places to live, provides access to mobility options that are healthy for their body and reduces emissions, and connects residents to plentiful amenities and opportunities. Enterprise is a leader in creating policies, programs and capital solutions to jointly address our housing, climate and equity goals. Our advocacy and extensive technical assistance work on programs such as the State’s Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities program (AHSC) has brought over $2.5 billion into communities to advance ambitious equitable housing and transportation investments, including significant investment to the City of Stockton where I have helped lead successful applicant teams. I would like to ensure that the Climate Action Plan has an interdisciplinary focus on land-use, housing and transportation.
Have you served on an advisory group before?
Yes No
If yes, please explain.
I have served on multiple local, regional and statewide advisory groups and boards. I am a current board member of the San Joaquin Valley Housing Collaborative - a regional nonprofit focused on advancing solutions to the Central Valley's housing needs. I am also currently serving on the San Joaquin Council of Government's Sustainable Community Strategy/Regional Transportation Plan's Working group. Recently, I concluded a two-year term as an inaugural member of the California Transportation Commission's Equity Advisory Committee where I helped develop a governance policy and uplifted transportation equity concerns for CalTrans District 10 constituents. From 2018 - 2020 I was also a member of the Mayor's Taskforce for Affordable Housing where I served as chair.
