I am a long-time Stockton resident, business owner, and licensed cosmetologist with over 25 years of experience serving our community. I am also a certified holistic trichologist, focusing on hair and scalp health through a wellness-based approach, and I provide health and wellness assessments using the ZYTO Scan, a non-invasive tool that helps identify areas of stress and imbalance in the body. Through my work, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them improve not only their appearance, but their confidence and overall well-being.

My name is Jahari Williams, and I am a lifelong community advocate residing in District 1 in North Stockton. I spent nearly 20 years working for PG&E, where I gained a deep understanding of organizational structure, employee rights, compliance, and the importance of fairness and accountability within large institutions. I am now a self-employed Realtor in Stockton, which keeps me closely connected to the needs and concerns of residents across our community. I have always been active in community and family-centered service. I have been an advocate for my children and a strong voice for coworkers in workplace situations where clarity, fairness, or accountability were needed. I’ve also volunteered extensively as a team mom for youth sports, supporting coaches, parents, and kids by helping keep communication clear and making sure everyone felt included. These experiences taught me how important it is to stand up for fairness, inclusion, and open communication, especially when decisions affect people’s livelihoods, families, and future opportunities. I want to serve on this commission because equity is personal to me. I have lived through systems that did not always treat people equally, and those experiences shaped my commitment to being part of the solution. I believe in a city government that is transparent, accountable, and fair to its workforce. Serving on the Civil Service Commission allows me to bring my lived perspective, professional experience, and strong sense of responsibility to ensure city employment processes are applied consistently and justly.

My background in a highly regulated industry, combined with my community involvement, has given me a deep respect for structured systems that work best when transparency and consistency are prioritized. I am a 74 yr old Great Grand Mother of 9, who has worked as a RN for 50 years before retirement from Duel Vocational Services as SRN 2. I have worked as a model, dancer, postal worker, factory worker and served on numerous boards, councils and committees. I have also lived all over the country including Alaska as a Mental Health Nurse. I have served on Cultural Diversity and Equal Employee committees in several past positions. I have a MSN in Nursing with a Leadership and Administration focus. For many years I was active in the NAACP in various states. I have been very focused on my community and ways to assist and improve it. I am currently serving on the SJ County Civil Grand Jury 24/25 and want to do more to be of service to my community and help in its improvement for All residents regardless of race, age, religion, sexual orientation, social status or any other standing. I have worked as a civil servant and am familiar with EEO and other diversity offices/departments related to diversity. I have physical disabilities and specialize in Special Needs clients in travel.

I would like to serve my city on a board/commission and Civil Service-Equal Employment Commission is something I am interested in. As a very diverse community our city offices and services should be diverse as well. All groups deserve fair and equal treatment in our city employment. I would like to help ensure that by working as part of the commission. I have my own disabilities and i serve as a Special Newds Advocate in my Travel Business. In addition I serve as President of the American Society of Travel Advisor San Francisco Bay Area Chapter and their National Chapter Presidents Council. I serve as President of the San Joaquin Chapter of the California State Retirees Association with approximately 900 members in the county.
