I currently serve on the City of Stockton Planning Commission and I live in District 2. I work as a behaviorist and I am also the head football coach at Chavez High School. Every day, I see firsthand how much reliable, accessible, and affordable public transportation matters, especially for our young people, working families, seniors, and residents with special needs.

I want to be a member of the San Joaquin Regional Transit District Board to be a strong voice for the residents who rely on transit every single day. Stockton is growing, our needs are changing, and we have an opportunity to strengthen a system that supports students, working families, and vulnerable populations. With my background in education, youth development, and public service, I understand the transportation barriers that impact student attendance, after-school involvement, job access, and overall community mobility.
My experience on the Planning Commission has also given me a strong understanding of how transportation ties into land use, job centers, economic development, and equity. I believe I can contribute meaningful insight to help improve efficiency, expand routes where needed, and ensure that the district’s decisions reflect the lived realities of the people we serve. I want to use my experience and passion to help make transit safer, more reliable, and more accessible for the entire community.

I currently serve as a City of Stockton Planning Commissioner, where I review development projects, land-use decisions, and policy recommendations. This role has given me a solid understanding of city operations, public accountability, and the need for thoughtful, community-focused decision-making. It has also strengthened my ability to evaluate technical information, listen to public input, and make balanced recommendations that serve the best interests of the city and its residents.
How did you hear about the position?
I regularly follow openings and announcements through the City Clerk’s website and stay active in city matters, so I became aware of this opportunity through the City’s public postings.

My motivation for seeking a return to the San Joaquin RTD Board is anchored in the desire to leverage my three terms of direct experience and my expertise as a Senior Transportation Engineer to proactively address critical challenges and opportunities facing the District. My primary reasons for wanting to serve again are: To Ensure Fiscal and Technical Accountability: My background allows me to go beyond surface-level reviews. I want to ensure that every major financial and capital project decision—whether it involves new fleet purchases, infrastructure upgrades, or technology adoption—is thoroughly vetted for long- term sustainability and technical soundness. My goal is to maximize the value of public dollars spent for the benefit of our riders. To Champion Service Reliability and Expansion: As the region continues to grow, maintaining reliable and accessible service is paramount. I want to focus on strategic planning that optimizes our existing routes and explores responsible expansion into underserved areas, particularly those important to our senior population and essential workers. I am committed to improving on-time performance and enhancing the overall rider experience. To Provide Essential Institutional Continuity: Having served through multiple strategic planning cycles and critical operational periods, I possess vital institutional knowledge regarding RTD's history, labor relations, regional partnerships, and regulatory environment. I can offer the Board the stability and informed perspective necessary to transition smoothly and continue making progress without interruption. I am a rising Junior attending Lathrop High School. I am engaged with the Stockton community by playing the piano for South Stockton Cathedrals, notably St. Mary's of the assumption and as well as serving the Catholic St. George Church as an active member through giving out to the community.
