STOCKTON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CARRY-FORWARD APPROPRIATION OF $1.0 MILLION FROM FY 2024-25 FIRE DEPARTMENT YEAR-END SAVINGS FOR USE IN FY 2025-26 The Fire Department projects approximately $2.6 million in Fiscal Year (FY) 2024–25 year-end savings; and On December 16, 2025, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2025-12-16-1211, authorizing a $600,000 carry-forward appropriation of FY 2024–25 Fire Department salary savings to support enhanced paramedic compensation as part of a recruitment and retention strategy; and The Fire Department has identified additional operational, equipment, and workforce development needs that cannot be accommodated within the FY 2025–26 adopted budget; and Staff is requesting authorization to carry forward an additional $1,000,000 of remaining FY 2024–25 Fire Department year-end savings for use in FY 2025–26 to support these identified needs; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STOCKTON, AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council approves a carry-forward appropriation in the amount of $1,000,000 from FY 2024–25 Fire Department year-end savings for use in FY 2025–26.
The City Manager is hereby authorized to take whatever actions are necessary and appropriate to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
