STOCKTON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION APPROVING A REFUND TO BIG VALLEY FORD LINCOLN, MERCURY, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $68,972.17 FOR PRORATED BUSINESS LICENSE FEE In April 2025, Big Valley Ford Lincoln, Mercury, Inc., remitted payment for the annual Business License Tax for the 2025 license period in the amount of $118,334.58; and In October 2025, the business owner formally notified the City that the business had been sold and operations under their ownership ceased effective August 3, 2025; and The business owner is requesting the City to prorate the Business License Tax for the portion of the year the business was actively operating and refund any credit that proration would generate; and The City reviewed the account and confirmed that the business license had been paid in full for 2025, operations ceased on August 3, 2025, and the new owners, Big Valley Ford LLC, completed a separate business license and paid in full pursuant to City requirements; and The prorated refund from the period of August 3, 2025, through June 30, 2026, is determined to equal $68,972.17; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STOCKTON, AS FOLLOWS:
1. Pursuant to Stockton Municipal Code section 5.04.080 and 5.04.140, the City of Stockton approves a refund in the amount of $68,972.17 to Big Valley Ford Lincoln, Mercury, Inc. //

2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to take whatever actions are necessary and appropriate to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
