Description: I am writing to you in advance of the Council meeting on May 24, during which I believe there will be discussion of a proposal to officially endorse the efforts of the local Amah Mutsun indigenous tribe to protect their ancestral land, Juristac, in southern Santa Clara County from being developed as a pit mine. This land was taken from the Amah Mutsun over 200 years ago and is sacred to them. They want to protect the land from development, and especially from what would be destruction of their ancestral site. I strongly support their efforts and hope that you will too.
