Cricket being the world’s 2nd largest sport in popularity is peaking its reach in America over the last 2 to 3 years There is a huge amount of demand from the U.S.-based audience to consume the sport in person. U.S. is second only to India in terms of the number of fans who travel abroad to see cricket matches each year and is home to one of the top five media markets for the game in the world.

Major League Cricket (MLC) has been instrumental in building a professional cricket structure for Twenty20 Cricket.

With Minor League Tournament organized in 2021 and 2022 successfully across the country, the traction has increased immensely.

Moosa Stadium in Houston joined the Broward County Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as the second ground with ODI status in the United States to be an international cricket venue. The ground played as host to all twelve One Day Internationals (Tri Nation series) in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 that was played in May 2022 Attachment 3

Women’s Cricket is at all time high in USA, as team consistently performs at high level. 5 players are from Bay Area representing USA and performing at their best in all the tournaments. 3 players out of this had started their cricket from Sunnyvale and recently moved closer to other cities in Bay Area closer to some cricket fields.

USA Cricket is creating a structure for Youth Cricket and its important the right infrastructure in place to have quality games in good field across bay area. Sunnyvale being epi center for cricket, where lots of budding youth cricketers blossomed over the years, it becomes important to build and provide such infrastructure and playing facilities locally.
