A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SUNNYVALE AMENDING RESOLUTION NOS. NOS.
143-77 AND 1151-22, TO CHANGE THE TITLE OF TWO
CLASSIFICATIONS IN THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN OF
THE CIVIL SERVICE, AND TO AMEND THE CITY’S
SALARY RESOLUTION TO UPDATE THE SCHEDULE OF
PAY TO INCLUDE THOSE CLASSIFICATIONS AND
INCREASE THE SALARY OF THE FACILITIES
MANAGER CLASSIFICATION
WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Environmental Services, Human Resources staff has proposed an amendment to the Classification Plan of the Civil Service of the City of Sunnyvale to change the title of “Recycled Water Coordinator” to “Recycled Water and Cross Connection Specialist” to reflect the duties of the classification and an update to the salary schedule to increase the salary for the position; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Public Works, Human Resources staff has proposed an amendment to the Classification Plan of the Civil Service of the City of Sunnyvale to change the title of “Superintendent of Facilities Maintenance” to “Facilities Manager” for consistency with other similar positions in the city and the facilities maintenance industry.
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered such proposals and recommendations and wishes to approve the amendment to the Classification Plan of the Civil Service and make corresponding changes to the City’s Salary Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE THAT:
1. The City Council hereby approves an amendment to the Classification Plan of the Civil Service as follows:
a. Change the title of “Recycled Water Coordinator” to “Recycled Water and Cross Connection Specialist” (5431); and
b. Change the title of “Superintendent of Facilities Maintenance” to “Facilities Manager” (0212).
2. Except as herein modified, the Classification Plan, Resolution No. 143-77, as amended, shall remain in full force and effect.
3. Resolution No. 1151-22 (the City’s Salary Resolution) is hereby amended by updating the classification titles and pay rates as set forth in Exhibit A, in the schedule of pay (salary table), attached and incorporated by reference, to implement the changes described in this resolution on the effective dates noted in Attachment 1
