A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SUNNYVALE DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND
RESULTS OF THE CONSOLIDATED GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024,
F O R T H E E L E C T I O N O F C O U N C I L M E B E R S T O C I T Y COUNCIL DISTRICTS 2, 4, AND 6, AND THE OFFICE OF
MAYOR, AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY
LAW
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Sunnyvale duly called and ordered held in the City on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, a Consolidated General Municipal Election pursuant to Sunnyvale City Charter Section 1400 to elect Councilmembers to Districts 2, 4, and 6, and the Office of Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the election for City Council Districts 2, 4, and 5, and the Office of Mayor was held on November 5, 2024, and pursuant to the applicable provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara has duly canvassed the votes cast by the electors in the City of Sunnyvale upon the offices hereinafter set forth, and has supplied to the City Council the Certificate of Election Results and the final results of the votes cast, which are attached as Exhibit "A;" and
WHEREAS, Sunnyvale City Charter Section 601 provides that the City Council shall certify the election results for the city councilmember elections at the first regular meeting in January.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THAT:
1. The total number of votes cast in the City of Sunnyvale at the Consolidated General Municipal Election, and the number of votes cast in each precinct for the persons and respective offices to be filled at the Consolidated General Municipal Election, are as listed in Exhibit “A,” which is incorporated herein by this reference.
2. The statement of the final results by the County of Santa Clara Registrar of Voters as shown in Exhibit "A," and the results of the votes cast at the Consolidated General Municipal Election are hereby ratified, confirmed and approved.

The following named persons received the largest number of votes for the offices of Councilmember and were, therefore, duly elected as Members of the City Council for the full term of four years, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to issue a Certificate of Election to the persons, certifying each person's election to the office appearing a f t e r h i s o r h e r n a m e , a n d t o a d m i n i s t e r t o t h e e l e c t e d p e r s o n s t h e o a t h o f o f f i c e prescribed by the Constitution, the laws of the State of California and the Charter of the City of Sunnyvale and file it in the office of the City Clerk:

1. A General Election was held in the County of Santa Clara, for the Mayor, on November 5, 2024 for the purpose of electing one (1) full-term Member, City of Sunnyvale to the Governing Board.
2. The official canvass of the returns of this election was conducted by the Office of the Registrar of Voters in accordance with the appropriate provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California.
3. The Statement of Votes Cast, now on file in my office and attached hereto, shows the number of votes for each candidate for the Mayor of the City of Sunnyvale and in each of the precincts and that the total shown for each candidate are true and correct.
