What motivated you to apply for
this board or commission?
Art is an everyday part of my life. And seeing art as an essential part of Sunnyvale makes me fall in love with our city even more. I feel passionate about public art projects and want to learn how to contribute more to that. I have a degree in Cultural Studies. I am practicing and creating art objects. And I see a tremendous value in the inspiration and joy that city art can contribute even into a simple walk to the grocery store.

bring to this board or
commission?
I am very open-minded, always curious, full of new ideas, and always excited to create, improve, and develop. I know how to "read" and present a project, I know how to do research and communicate on it.
I am being active and proactive on every project I work on.

Board or Commission-Specific Questions
Arts Commission
What role do you think public art
plays in a city?
Inspiring during a daily routine. I see public art as a way to communicate with a person who goes by with their daily tasks, that this city has a soul and cares for it. It makes living in Sunnyvale more cheerful. It makes people see that it is not only about buildings and cars. It is about emotions, beauty, ethics, dreams...
How might the City strengthen
art programs in the community?
Involve kids in public art projects. It would be fantastic to see how kids can enrich the landscape of Sunnyvale.
The Sunnyvale Public Art
collection includes sculptures and
other physical art. As an Arts
Commissioner, how would you
prioritize the inclusion of visual,
literary, interactive and
performing arts to embody the
cultures of our diverse
community?
I would prioritize inclusivity by balancing and integrating all kinds of art projects. While sculptures (or other physical art) can be permanent or semi-permanent to "remind" of a message,
time-based experiences can highlight events, news, and current issues. Considering that Sunnyvale is highly diverse and friendly, we have all the tools to implement ideas into different projects.
Projects can be dedicated to holidays, social groups, ages, locations, hobbies... Even considering hobbies and pets can be a great idea to host a community event.
