Dear Mayor Klein, City Clerk, and Sunnyvale Council Members,
Thank you for the opportunity to submit an appeal for the seat on the Housing and Human Services Commission.
I greatly appreciate and understand from the conversation with our City Clerk the policy overall, enjoy contributing to serving the Sunnyvale community, and consider the opportunity to continue serving a privilege and honor with fellow commissioners, learn from and with the Commission and City staff on the various resources towards serving the Sunnyvale community.
This past year due to the circumstances of being one of the primary caregivers for a parent while they were hospitalized over several instances and their passing in November 2024, I was out of town supporting family and collaborating on organizing the preparation of their memorial services over the course of the months impacting meeting attendance this past year.
In addition my family, has greatly positively influenced and inspired volunteering in the Sunnyvale Community, including inspiring my engagement as a Summer Teen Volunteer (involving being awarded Sunnyvale Summer Teen Volunteer of the Year for 2 consecutive years) and initially highlighted the opportunity to serve on Commissions and Boards in the San Miguel Messenger, encouraging with support in serving the community (along with each member of my family having the opportunity of serving as volunteers as Sunnyvale residents for over 40 years). I would be honored to continue serving on the Housing and Human Services Commission and contributing to the community overall.
