What motivated you to apply for
this board or commission?
As a long-time resident of Sunnyvale, I am eager to apply for the Parks and Recreation Commission to help preserve and enhance the outdoor spaces that make our community a vibrant place to live. Having spent many hours in our local parks with my family, and coaching recreation soccer for many years, I have seen firsthand how essential these green spaces are for fostering social connections, supporting physical and mental health. I am committed to ensuring that our parks remain safe, accessible, and inclusive for all residents, and I look forward to offering my perspective to help the City Council make informed decisions that benefit our entire neighborhood.
What skills or attributes can you
bring to this board or
commission?
As a veterean engineer at tech industry, I have a lot of experience running complex projects. I am aware of budget and time considerations and understand what it takes to bring project for a successful completion.

I will learn all relevant codes, local laws and committees scopes in order to better understand the areas where I can impact and influence.

For many years I was a soccer coach in recreational programs of AYSO and Sunnyvale alliance. As such I had the chance to use Sunnyvale fields.
I am a member in Chabad of Sunnyvale community, and help facilitate public events.
Description Area The City has a Code of Ethics and Conduct for Elected and Appointed Officials and an Attendance Policy (7.2.19), 2 G (II) that appointed members are required to follow.

Park and Recreation Commission
Community demographics are
constantly changing. What do
you think are the principal issues
the commission may be
addressing over the next two
years?
With increased cost of living, and current employment trends, Sunnyvale community trends to be older. I believe there is a room to give more attention to facility that address adult and older population. For example walking trails and Bocce balls fields.
Also- it will be nice to have community events like wine and art festivals.
How could we improve our parks
and recreation infrastructure and
programming to better serve our
diverse community?
Overall Sunnyvale parks and recreation infrastructure is first class. I believe we can tune a little bit for activities that are more popular by the public. For example: have beach volleyball courts, Outdoor gym facilities, pickleball fields.
