I have now served for almost four years on the Planning Commission, so I have the additional experience of participating in those meetings, reviewing many, many development projects, commercial and residential, and approving or revising specific plans, notably, the Moffett Park Specific Plan and the Village Center Master Plan.
I now have a good understanding of how City Staff works and the interaction of public input and policy constraints.
I have attended the League of California Cities' Planning Commissioners Academy twice, as well as several relevant webinars. The opportunity to interact with commissioners from other jurisdictions is invaluable.

I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute to our civic life at this level and feel more qualified to serve than when I was first appointed. As an engaged citizen with a long-time interest in local politics and an engineer accustomed to reviewing and understanding technical documentation, I am very comfortable in this role and would like to continue serving if reappointed.
As a result of my experience on the Planning Commission and my first-hand experience with a number of Sunnyvale non-profit organizations, I feel I am a well-qualified candidate.

This is a critical time to be a Planning Commissioner. In recent years, the California legislature has passed over 500
housing-related bills that have dramatically changed the rules governing land use statewide. It is important to have
commissioners with experience navigating this changing
landscape.
If reappointed, I will continue to work with our excellent City Staff and our engaged public to make decisions within the constraints of State law and Sunnyvale Municipal code.
