Chaunacey Dunklee, Library Services Manager, presented an update on the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library. Highlights included: a brief history, how the Friends help, Friends by the numbers, and getting involved. 26-0534

June 1, 2026Board of Library Trustees Meeting Minutes - Draft Liliana Pacheco, Youth Services Librarian, and Aydin Kwan, Adult Services Librarian, presented on the library's marketing and outreach. Highlights included:
goals, marketing, creating awareness, reaching non-library users, and partnerships. 26-0535
Recognition of Service
Garrett Kuramoto, Deputy Director of Libraries, thanked the board members for their service, and congratulated Board Member Liu for his reappointment.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Winnie Lam thanked Chaunacey for serving as Friends of the Library liaison; praised the annual Gingerbread Village, the upcoming summer reading program art installation, and the Friends of the Library's support for maker shop equipment at Lakewood Library; commended Liliana and Aydin for their deep community outreach through newsletters and social media.

June 1, 2026Board of Library Trustees Meeting Minutes - Draft The library has lots of exciting programs in June:
- Join us on June 13 for a TED Democracy Live Streaming Webinar. - Summer Reading has officially begun, it goes from June 1 through August 31. A free book is given upon registration. Program finishers will be entered into a drawing. There will be different prizes for different age groups. Adults can participate and set their own reading goal.
- There will be a Summer Reading Kickoff on June 14 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There will be activities, crafts, and a puppet show.
