PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS
3 26-0207 City Council Public Hearing on FY 2026/27 Budget and Resource Allocation Plan and Establishment of Appropriations Limit, Sunnyvale Financing Authority Public Hearing on FY 2026/27 Budget, and City Council Review of FY 2026/27

Finance Director Matt Paulin provided the staff report.
Public Hearing opened at 8:11 p.m.
Stephanie Johnson, Sunken Gardens Ladies Club, advocated for establishing a reduced senior rate at the Sunken Gardens golf course.
Sara Shavir spoke in support of Council Priority Project 2026-13: Reinventing and Revitalizing Sunnyvale's Safe Routes to School Program to keep Sunnyvale students safe.
Marie Bernard, Executive Director, Sunnyvale Community Services, shared their concerns with the loss of federal funding towards social safety net programs and CalFresh (California's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
Zachary Kaufman questioned where the proposed FY 2026/27 City Budget is available on the City's agenda management platform, Legistar.
David Fylstra, Board President, Leadership Sunnyvale, advocated for increasing the City's grant funding support for Leadership Sunnyvale.

Tara Martin-Milius, Executive Director, Leadership Sunnyvale, communicated their support for increasing the City's grant funding support for Leadership Sunnyvale.
Bruce Paton, Leadership Sunnyvale, advocated for increasing the City's grant funding support for Leadership Sunnyvale.
Agnes Veith, Sunnyvale Community Services, spoke in support for increasing the City's funding to Sunnyvale Community Services.
Stephen Meier shared their concerns with the cost of massage therapist permitting fees.
Public Hearing closed at 8:47 p.m.
No action taken.
Council took a recess at 8:53 p.m. and reconvened at 9:02 p.m. with all Councilmembers present.
