Principal Planner Aastha Vashist presented a slide presentation regarding State Assembly Bill 79 and provided an overview of the Abundant and Affordable Homes Near Transit Act.

RESOURCE ALTERATION PERMIT: to modify the existing historic resource with the development of four three-story townhomes in the rear and the retention of a 960-square foot single family house.

Environmental Review: A Class 32 categorical exemption relieves this project from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) provisions.

Chair Garrett noted the email that they received regarding the historical plaque located in San Miguel Elementary School and Ms. Ishijima noted that school districts are under State jurisdiction. Ms. Ishijima informed the inquirer to continue working with the school district and that the Sunnyvale Historical Society may also be able to help.
-Staff Comments
Ms. Ishijima noted that a special August meeting may not be needed and the next regular meeting is scheduled for September 2, 2026.
