A R E S O L U T I O N O F T H E C I T Y C O U N C I L O F T H E C I T Y O F SUNNYVALE AMENDING THE CITY’S CLASSIFICATION PLAN TO
ADD THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF CONTROL SYSTEMS MANAGER,
EMERGENCY SERVICES MANAGER, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
COORDINATOR, SUPERVISING PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER AND
UPDATE CLASSIFICATION TITLES OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
MANAGER, ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING COORDINATOR,
LIBRARY SPECIALIST 1/2/3, WASTEWATER OPERATIONS
MANAGER, AND MAKE CORRESPONDING CHANGES AND AN
ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTION TO THE SALARY RESOLUTION
(RESO. NO. 1151-22) AND PAY SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Human Resources Department requested additions and changes to certain job classifications to support operational needs; and WHEREAS, an administrative correction to the pay steps listed in the Salary Resolution for the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator classification is required for the 2025-2026 period; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the recommendations and wishes to approve changes to the Classification Plan and make corresponding updates to the pay schedule of the City’s Salary Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE THAT:
1. The City Council hereby amends the Classification Plan of the Civil Service to add the following classifications:
a. Control Systems Manager (0397)
b. Emergency Services Manager (0248)
c. Community Engagement Coordinator (2541)
d. Supervising Public Safety Dispatcher (4551).
2. The City Council hereby amends the Classification Plan of the Civil Service to change the titles of the following classifications:
a. “Administrative Services Manager” to “Customer Service Manager” (0309)

b. “Environmental Engineering” to “Environmental Programs Coordinator” (1840)
c. “Library Specialist 1” to “Library Page” (8402)
d. “Library Specialist 2” to “Senior Library Page” (8403) e. “Library Specialist 3” to “Library Clerk” (8404)
f. “Wastewater Operations Manager” to “Wastewater Collections Manager” (0352).
3. R e s o l u t i o n N o . 1 1 5 1 - 2 2 , t h e C i t y ’ s S a l a r y R e s o l u t i o n , i s h e r e b y a m e n d e d b y adding and amending the classification titles and pay rates as set forth in Exhibit “A” attached and incorporated by reference, to implement the changes described in this Resolution on the effective dates set forth in Exhibit “A”.
4. All other provisions of Resolution No. 1151-22, and the Classification Plan, Resolution No. 143-77, shall remain in full force and effect.
