9.A Consider Resolution No. 23-6093, pursuant to Public Contracts Code Section 20168 authorizing emergency repairs to the Diamond Mountain Golf Course facility.

Dan Newton, City Administrator, provided an explanation of the damage at the golf course and requested the council approve Resolution No. 23-6093, authorizing the emergency repair of the golf course pro shop due to water damage caused by a burst pipe.

Mr. Newton explained how the city's property insurance works, the deductible, and the banking layer. He added that it is a $25,000 deductible or a $1,000 deductible if we chose to use the banking layer, which is his recommendation.

Councilmember Brown inquired as to how long it would take if they moved forward.

Wade Workman, Kirack Construction, stated that 4-5 weeks at the most, dependent on the insurance company and what finishes are chosen. He stated that it should be ready to go prior to opening day.

Councilmember Schuster only requested that it look "mountainous" to which Mr. Workman responded that he is only concerned with type of materials, not the look of it, it would be all the city's choice.

Councilmember Stafford asked how the city can prevent this from happening again. Mr.

Workman offered multiple suggestions, including copper pipes but, to also keep the thermostat and at least 58 degrees, not 55.
