Special Council Meeting Minutes
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2023 – 8:30 AM
Mayor McCourt called the meeting to order at 8:30am.
Roll Call of Councilmembers Present: McCourt, Stafford, Herrera, Schuster, Brown
1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: (Additions and/or Deletions)
Moved by Kevin Stafford; seconded by Russ Brown to approve the agenda as drafted.
Motion Carried: 5 - 0
Voting For: Quincy McCourt, Kevin Stafford, Thomas Herrera, Mendy Schuster, Russ Brown Voting Against: None
2. PUBLIC COMMENT REGARDING CLOSED SESSION ITEMS (if any): Any person may address the Council at this time upon any subject for discussion during Closed Session.
Jim McCarthy, public, addressed the Council and requested that the recruitment process for the Economic Development Director be halted until the new members of Council are seated.
3. CLOSED SESSION: The City Council convened in closed session at 8:35am to discuss the following:
A. PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT - pursuant to Government Code Section §54957
1. Economic Development Director – Interviews
The Council took a recess at 10:15am and returned to closed session at 10:24am.
4. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: (recess if necessary)
The Council reconvened in open session at 10:50am.
Mr. Newton stated that the Council met in closed session to discuss the above-mentioned item, no reportable action was taken, but direction was provided to staff.
5. BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR: None.
6. COUNCIL DISCUSSION/ANNOUNCEMENTS: None.
7. CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORTS: None.
8. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn at 10:51am.
