Special Council Meeting Minutes
WEDNESDAY, MAY 28, 2025 – 4:00 PM
Mayor Schuster called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Roll Call of Councilmembers Present: Schuster, Brown, Bortle, Parrish, Miller
1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Moved by Parrish; seconded by Bortle to approve as presented.
Motion Carried: 5 - 0
Voting For: Schuster, Brown, Bortle, Parrish, Miller
Voting Against: None
2. PUBLIC COMMENT REGARDING CLOSED SESSION ITEMS (if any): No comment.
3. CLOSED SESSION:
The Council convened in closed session at 4:01pm to discuss the following:
A. CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS - pursuant to Government Code Section §54957.6
1. Fire Unit
2. Miscellaneous Unit
3. Public Works unit
4. SPOA Unit
5. Department Heads:
a. City Clerk
b. Economic Development Director
c. Finance Director
d. Public Safety Chief
e. Public Works Director
4. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: The Council reconvened in open session at 5:38 p.m.
Mr. Newton stated that prior to meeting in closed session the Council approved the agenda as presented. They then met in closed session where the above-mentioned items were discussed.
No reportable action was taken but direction was provided to staff.
5. BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR: No business.
6. CONSENT CALENDAR: No business.
7. PUBLIC HEARINGS: No business.
8. COUNCIL DISCUSSION/ANNOUNCEMENTS: No comment.
9. NEW BUSINESS: No business.
10. ADJOURNMENT: Council adjourned at 5:39 p.m.
