Special Council Meeting Minutes
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, 2025 – 3:00 PM
Mayor Schuster called the meeting to order at 3:00pm.
Roll Call of Councilmembers Present: Mendy Schuster, Russ Brown, Curtis Bortle, Patrick Parrish, Dawn Miller
1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Moved by Dawn Miller; seconded by Curtis Bortle to approve.
Motion Carried: 5 - 0
Voting For: Mendy Schuster, Russ Brown, Curtis Bortle, Patrick Parrish, Dawn Miller Voting Against: None
2. PUBLIC COMMENT REGARDING CLOSED SESSION ITEMS (if any): No public comment.
3. CLOSED SESSION:
The City Council convened in closed session at 3:01pm to discuss the following:
A. PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT - pursuant to Government Code Section §54957
1. City Manager evaluation
B. CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS - pursuant to Government Code Section §54957.6
1. Fire Unit
2. Miscellaneous Unit
3. Public Works unit
4. SPOA Unit
5. Department Heads:
a. City Clerk
b. Economic Development Director
c. Finance Director
d. Public Safety Chief
e. Public Works Director
4. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: (recess if necessary) The City Council reconvened in open session at 4:54 p.m.
Mr. Newton stated that prior to going into closed session, the Council approved the agenda as presented. He added that they then met in closed session to discuss the above-mentioned items where no reportable action was taken but direction was provided to staff.
