SEPTEMBER 20, 2022
The September 20, 2022, regular joint meeting of the Taft City Council/Taft Successor Agency, held in the Council Chamber at Taft City Hall, 209 East Kern Street, Taft, CA 93268, was opened by Mayor Dave Noerr at 6:00 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Whiting, followed by an invocation given by Pastor Steven McDaniel.
PRESENT: Mayor Dave Noerr and Mayor Pro Tem Orchel Krier Council Members Josh Bryant, Jeff Eveland and Ed Whiting City Manager Craig Jones and City Attorney Jason Epperson City Clerk Yvette Mayfield

There was none.
3. COUNCIL STATEMENTS (NON-ACTION)
Council Member Bryant talked about the timeline for political signs and recognized Les Clark II for receiving the Person of the Year award for Kern County.
Mayor Pro Tem Krier talked about stories of the past and mentioned that the Kern County Fair starts this week.
Mayor Noerr also recognized Les Clark II for his Person of the Year award and mentioned the upcoming candidate’s forum and encouraged people to take part in their government.
4. PLANNING COMMISSION REPORT
Commissioner, Jerry Livingston reported that the Planning Commission approved the site plan for the new Dollar General store and approved moving their next scheduled meeting to the third Wednesday in October.

AGENDA MATTER:
ACCEPT BID AND APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF 2023 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 2WD PICKUP
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City published a bid to replace a 2014 Chevy pickup which was included in the approved budget for FY 22/23. The bid process for the replacement vehicle was opened on August 9, 2022 and closed September 22, 2022. Only one response was received, and it was from ThreeWay Chevrolet in the amount of $50,619.56. Their response appears to be responsive to the requested vehicle specifications and is within the amount budgeted for the vehicle.
The 2014 pickup will remain in the City fleet for use by our code enforcement officer.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Motion to accept the bid from Three-Way Chevrolet in the amount of $50,619.56 and approve purchase of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2 WD Crew Cab Pickup.
