SUBJECT SOUTH DENNISON ROAD WATER MA!N REPTACEMENT PROJECT
BACKG ROUND
The project seeks to replace approximately 0.50 mile of 14-inch diameter C905 PVC pipe and ductile iron fittings, tie-in connections to existing waterlines, and the removal of an existing pipeline on Dennison Road between Highline Road and Abajo Avenue. The project should improve our domestic and fire suppression services within the area as well as reduce mounting maintenance expenses Staff has experienced in this area over the last several years. This water main has experienced numerous leaks over the past few years resulting in service interruptions and inadequate water flow to our residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. ln order to remedy this situation in an expedited manner, this project was advanced from FY 23/24 to FY 22123.
City staff prepared and solicited bids for the completion of this project. Staff opened bids for this project on September L4,2022. The results of the bid opening are listed in the table below:

ln compliance with the Public Contract Code, City Staff undertook a review of the bids received to confirm that the apparent low bidder provided a responsive bid. The bid provided by California Compaction Company has been deemed to be responsive.
FISCAL IMPACT:
All construction and construction administration costs for the project will be funded from the Water Enterprise Fund.
This project was budgeted for funding in the FY 23/24 and subsequently accelerated to FY 22123 by Council on August 15,2022, due to increased frequency of water line failures.
