SUBJECT: BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DONATIONS
As you remember Mayor Pogon-Cord and Councilmembers you proclaimed the month of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the City of Tehachapi.

We hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and Health Fair at Railroad Park on October 11th. We had several organizations come out to help educate the community including Houchin Community Blood Bank, KUR Medical Massage, Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center, the Tehachapi Cancer Foundation, Cedar Sinai Cancer Outreach, and Synchrony Medical Group. More than 100 people came out and either walked the one mile or two-mile course in downtown. We had two women talk to the attendees to promote awareness and support for breast cancer patients.

Throughout the month of October, the City of Tehachapi sold hats to aid in the awareness campai8n for breast cancer along with displaying a "butterfly wall" where people could put names of loved ones on the butterflies to show support.

With the hat sales, we ordered 15 dozen special edition City of Tehachapi hats that featured a pink ribbon to assist in raising awareness for breast cancer. We sold roughly 150 hats at S20 each. We are going to split the 53,000 between the Tehachapi Cancer Foundation and the Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center to assist them with their missions to help Tehachapi cancer patients.

DEPARTMENT H
CITY MANAGER:

HONORABTE MAYOR POGON.CORD AND COUNCIT MEMBERS

TYLER NAPIER, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
DATE: ocToBER 27,202s
SUBJECT: CITY HATT ROOF AND HVAC REHAB PROJECT
BACKGROUND:

As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain and preserve the City's facilities and infrastructure, the roof at City Hall, has been identified as a priority project due to continued leaks and age-related deterioration. ln addition to the roofing work, two HVAC units located on the building have reached the end of their service life and will be replaced concurrently with this project. This approach will maximize efficiency, minimize disruptions, and ensure that the new HVAC systems are properly integrated into the new roofing system.

During inspection, areas of damaged wood were also identified on the building. These areas will be repaired or replaced as part of this project to maintain the facility's structural integrity.

The project is scheduled to take place during the sprin8 to avoid the potential impacts of rain or snow on the construction process. This timing will also allow staff to coordinate the work in a way that minimizes disruption to City operations, as the HVAC system will be offline for a short period during the replacement.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Facilities Department initially allocated 590,000 for this project in the current budget. Following the bidding process with Gordian (Sourcewell Partner), the total project cost was determined to be S115,238.95.

The additional funds required to cover the cost overage will be drawn from the General Fund's reserves.

RECOMMENDATION:

APPROVE THE AGREEMENT FOR THE CITY HAtt ROOF REPTACEMENT AND HVAC REPTACEMENT PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF 5116,238.95 AND AUTHORIZE THE CIW MANAGER TO APPROVE ANY CHANGE ORDERS UP TO A MAXTMUM OF 20% OF THE ORTGTNAL CONTRACT (OR s23,247.791.
