COMMITTEE BUSINESS
1. Discuss Margarita Recreation Center Mosaic Mural — Staff shared a concept drawing of a proposed mosaic mural for the new Margarita Recreation Center (MRC). Subcommittee recommends creating a design that is more representative of the community members that will be frequenting the MRC. Staff will work with the artist to create new concept drawings that will be shared with the Subcommittee at a future meeting.
2. Discuss Potential Property Acquisition of Empire Creek — Staff discussed the potential acquisition of Empire Creek and improving the landscape of the property. Subcommittee is supportive of staff moving forward with studies and biological surveys to see what is feasible.
3. Renaming Voorburg Park and Renovating Nakayama Park — Staff proposed renaming Voorburg Park to Daisen Park. Staff shared plans to renovate Nakayama Park by incorporating a Japanese serenity garden. Subcommittee is supportive of both ideas and would like to see concept drawings for the renovation.
