COMMITTEE BUSINESS
1. Discussion of Cost Recovery Opportunities and Traffic Control Plans for the Fourth of July Extravaganza and Fireworks Show— Staff proposed paid parking options to help cost recovery for the Fourth of July Extravaganza event comprising of a General Vehicle paid parking area in Ronald Reagan Sports Park parking lots and an RV/Motorhome paid parking area on Rancho Vista Road. These options would include online pre-registration and priority registration for Temecula residents. Staff also shared the updated Traffic Control Plan to increase the speed and flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic exiting the sports park by utilizing flashing lights, additional signage, and deputy manned intersections. Subcommittee provided feedback and direction for staff to present a full report of recommendations to the full City Council at the meeting of May 13, 2025.
