TO:Andrew P. Powers, City Manager
FROM:Laura B. Maguire, City Clerk
DATE:April 25, 2023
SUBJECT: 2023 City Council Meeting Schedule Revision
RECOMMENDATION:

1. Adopt resolution revising City Council meeting schedule for calendar year 2023 and rescinding Resolution No. 2023-003.

2. Find that this is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

No Additional Funding Requested. Minimal staff time required to prepare the report is included in the Adopted FY 2022-23 General Fund Budget.

BACKGROUND:

Pursuant to Thousand Oaks Municipal Code Section 1-8.101, City Council regular meetings should be held at least twice each month on Tuesdays at such times fixed annually by resolution. City Council typically adopts the meeting schedule in the fall for the next calendar year.

DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:

It is recommended that the 2023 City Council meeting schedule be revised to include two additional meeting dates on May 16, 2023, and July 18, 2023. These additional meetings will help accommodate business matters requiring timely City Council input prior to the annual summer recess.

Adopting the resolution (Attachment #1) establishing the City Council meeting schedule in advance assists City Council, staff, public, and the press with the scheduling of City business.
