RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF THOUSAND OAKS APPROVING
THE REPORT OF RESIDENTIAL WASTEWATER
SERVICE CHARGES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-24
AND DIRECTING THE FILING OF CHARGES FOR
COLLECTION BY THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 67-7, the City of Thousand Oaks established a Municipal Sewer District; and
WHEREAS, clean water and good sanitation are essential to public health and safety and improve the quality of life for residents; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Thousand Oaks has adopted Ordinance No. 1682-NS which establishes the authority for imposing and charging fees for the Wastewater Division; and
WHEREAS, Section 5473 of the Health and Safety Code requires that wastewater service charges collected on the tax roll be adopted by Council action; following a written and published noticed public hearing; and WHEREAS, on April 13, 2021, the City Council conducted a duly noticed public hearing introducing an ordinance amending Thousand Oaks Municipal Code (TOMC) sections 10-1.703, 10-1.901, 10-1.902, 10-1.908, and 10-1.909, to allow for the collection of wastewater service charges for single-family residential properties to be collected on the County’s property tax roll; and WHEREAS, a written report of annual residential wastewater charges was filed with the City Clerk describing each parcel of real property; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Thousand Oaks by a two-thirds vote:
Section 1. Hereby confirms and approves the Report of Residential Sewer Charges to be imposed on each parcel within the City subject to such charges submitted; and
Section 2. Instructs and authorizes the Finance Department to transmit the Report and necessary documents to the Ventura County Auditor-Controller requesting that the Wastewater Service Charges set forth in the Report shall be included on the Ventura County Tax Roll for FY 2023-24.

Section 3. Authorizes the Finance Director to enter into all necessary agreements with entities necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
