Employees have the option of enrolling themselves and/or their dependents into a nocost medical plan rather than being subject to the cap as set forth in Article 18, item A., above. Under the no-cost plan, the City will provide any HMO Medical Plan and any HMO Dental Plan offered by the City. Under this option, employees may choose to upgrade from the HMO Dental Plan to the PPO Dental Plan, however the employee will be required to pay the difference in premium between the HMO Dental Plan and the PPO Dental Plan.

Effective January 1, 2015, any increase in the cost of the HMO Medical Plans over the costs in effect December 31, 2014, will be borne as follows: The City will pay 95% of the increased cost, and employees enrolled in HMO Medical Plans will pay the remaining 5% of cost increases in annual premiums. Each year thereafter, the amount paid by employees in prior years will be added that portion of the increase (five percent 5%) the employees will pay in the 1 City of Irvine current year.
2023 - CalPERS offers several HMOs and PPOs. City
contributes $151.00/mo to all enrollees (including
retirees)
City sets monthly flex credit at 90% of Family PERS Choice Rate, less the mandatory health contribution. Current rate is $2,224.00/mo (pro-rated for 2 City of Camarillo regular parttime employees).

Effective January 1, 2019, the City shall contribute toward medical premiums an amount equal to the actual cost of the medical insurance premium for the medical plan that an eligible employee is enrolled in, less any required employee contributions set forth below.

Effective January 1, 2019 7% of the monthly premium
Effective January 1, 2021 8% of the monthly premium
Should the cost of annual premiums for the plans listed above increase, employees agree to pay contributions towards the cost of their medical insurance according to the schedule set forth in Section 7 above (Effective January 1, 2019 7% of the monthly premium; Effective January 1, 2021 8% of the monthly premium), not to exceed a 15% annual increase, for their selected City of Santa Monica plan.
