The VCAAA Advisory Council biennially calls for representation from each City to serve two- year terms. Pursuant to the VCAAA Advisory Council Guidelines for the Election of Representatives, the regular election procedure of each Council On Aging (COA) should be utilized to elect the members whose names must then be submitted to City Council for ratification. Subsequent to ratification, a confirmation letter (Attachment #1) must be signed by the Mayor and submitted to VCAAA prior to term commencement. The City is allowed two voting members on the Advisory Council.
