Thousand Oaks 8B - Proposed 333-Unit MIn Favor We support the proposed mixed-use development at 2150 W. Hillcrest Drive. The City needs more housing and we need more affordable housing. We are impressed that the developer will provide 33 affordable housing units, including 30 at the Very-Low Income level, in a mixture of 1B, 2B, and 3B. It is our understanding that all affordable housing units will be spread among the complex. It is a beautiful design.
Our only suggestion is that there be a dedicated place (library, community space) to allow for afterschool educational programs (e.g. tutoring, computer access, summer camp, etc.) for the youth, especially those from the low-income households.
