Betsy Connolly Unincorporated Lynn Ra 13A - FY 2023-24 Comm uIn favor I would like to thank the City of Thousand Oaks for setting aside funds for Community Grants, including the Community Environmental Enhancement Grant before the council today. By partnering with schools and nonprofits, the city can leverage their funds to accomplish important goals, like preventing food waste, conserving water, enhancing recreational trails, and beautifying outdoor spaces. If the city were to finance these enhancements directly, rather than partnering with the community, the costs would be much greater. Because this approach is such an efficient use of city funds, and the underlying expenses for nonprofits that execute these programs continues to rise, I hope that you will consider increasing the total amount available for community grants in future years. It's your support for projects like these that helps make Thousand Oaks such a special place.

uIn favor As a resident of Thousand Oaks I appreciate the array of grants that the City of Thousand Oaks has to offer. Grants play a crucial role in supporting individuals, organizations, and communities.
As the Vice President of Adelante Comunidad Conejo I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the grant allocation recommended to you tonight. This contribution will allow us to continue our vital work and help further our mission. With this support, we will be able to cover the costs of rescuing food from our retail vendors like Target, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Food Share and Food Forward. These important partnerships help everyone in the community. Receiving this grant will help us enhance our programs, reach more individuals in need and make a greater difference in our community.
We are truly grateful for the trust and confidence shown in Adelante Comunidad Conejo.
Your belief in our mission motivates us to strive for excellence and inspires us to continue our efforts to make a positive impact. Thank you for investment and helping us make a difference in the lives of so many.
Best,
Carole Shelton
