DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:

After multiple interviews by Mayor Pro Tem Newman and Councilmember Engler on May 14, 2024, the City Council approved 1 reappointment and 3 appointments to the COA Board on June 18, 2024. Unfortunately, on June 20, 2024, another Commissioner resigned. Therefore, another selection was required to fill the unscheduled vacancy. After reviewing their notes from the recent interviews, Mayor Pro Tem Newman and Councilmember Engler make the following recommendation to fill the vacancy: Elizabeth Bianchino. The recommended appointment application is attached (Attachment #1).

COUNCIL GOAL COMPLIANCE:

Meets the following City Council goals:

A. Create a more equitable, accessible, safe, welcoming, and inclusive government and community regardless of race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, language, education, and/or socio-economic status.

G. Continue City's commitment to community and cultural programs and services (such as Performing Arts/Theatres, Libraries, TOTV, Visual Arts, Youth and Senior Programs).
