media channels, and the CityScene e-newsletter. Two advertisements were placed in the Acorn, and an article was published encouraging residents to apply.

In addition, special announcements were made at the 2026 Youth Leadership Summit held on March 25, 2026, as well as at Youth Commission meetings to encourage participation.

DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:

Thirty-six applications were received for the eight existing vacancies. Eight applicants were deemed ineligible: five were non-residents, two submitted applications passed the deadline, and one was a non-incumbent senior. To be eligible for appointment during their senior year, applicants must have completed one year of service on the Youth Commission.

Twenty-eight applicants were interviewed on May 28, 2026. The interview panel consisted of Mayor Pro Tem Engler and Councilmember Newman. After reviewing applications and conducting interviews, the following reappointments are recommended: Inika Vellore to serve a one-year term during her senior year of high school and Brielle Levesque to serve a two-year term. Additionally, the following appointments are recommended for two-year terms: Andrew Atlas, Suah Bae, Krish Guptan, Emma Corrales Molina, Priya Mummaneni, and Adi Rathore.

Applications for the recommended appointees are available for review in the City Clerk Department. Applications submitted by minors are not included as attachments to staff reports.
