The City identified several intersection improvements (Attachment 1) as top safety priorities and submitted an application to the Southern California Association of Government’s (SCAG) 2023- 2026 Climate Reduction Program (CRP)//Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ)/Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) Project Selection in February 2024. The proposed project would include installation of one new traffic signal at the intersection of Arlington Avenue at Lincoln Street, replacement of traffic signal poles at the intersections of Carson Street at Del Amo Circle East and Sepulveda Boulevard at Madison Street, and installation of yellow reflectorized traffic signal backplates and contactless pedestrian push buttons.
CRP funds are administered by the Federal Highway Administration and the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
