RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation of the Civil Service Commission and Human Resources Director that City Council approve the revised class specification for Park Services Manager.

DISCUSSION
The class specification for Park Services Manager was last revised in 2009. Staff reviewed the Park Services Manager class specification and determined that changes were necessary to reflect the current functions of the position.
• The Definition , Distinguishing Characteristics , and Examples of Essential Duties Sections were revised to include managing the staff and functions of the Nature Center and Madrona Marsh.
• The Qualification Guidelines Section was revised to reflect the necessary competencies of the position. Core competencies are utilized to provide the capabilities, knowledge, skills, and resources that constitute what is needed to be successful in the classification. • The License and/or Certificate , Education and Experience , and Special Requirements Sections were revised to reflect the current needs of the position. • The Career Ladder Information Section was added.
